The network company Alliander, has got a new regional location in Amsterdam, which is called “Westpoort”. The location now has various facilities such as offices, training areas, workshops, warehouses and test rooms. During the planning of the building, special attention was paid to flexibility, sustainability and costs. For example, many recycled materials were used in the construction and wooden structures were used for a large part. The building is energy-neutral thanks to solar collectors, heat and cold storage. Good insulation is very important
To keep energy consumption low, good insulation throughout the building is most important. The choice of the right door is also important. At Alliander Westpoort, they chose industrial doors with wicket door from Rolflex. The sandwich panels have a good insulation value, which means that the weather conditions have hardly any influence on the climate in the building.
Enough space for crane runways
The best thing about the Compact Folding Door is that it folds up so small. It therefore takes up very little space, creating more space for a wide variety of installations. In this case, the space was used for the crane runway. The crane runway can run directly above the door. With an ordinary door, the rails would be in the way, so the crane runway would have to be installed higher up. Cables, lighting and air-conditioning units also find their place directly behind the door opening.
Industrial doors with wicket door at Alliander Westpoort for more comfort
In addition, it was decided to integrate wicket doors in four of the seven doors. This way, less energy is lost, as the entire industrial door does not have to be opened to let people through. Thanks to the windows in each of the wicket doors, you can also see if there is anything in front of the wicket door. This way it doesn’t happen so quickly that someone gets hurt or objects get damaged.
