Safety is a high priority in any business. It also plays a prominent role in the choice of a service door. Every new feature of the Compact door that makes it more reliable or even easier to use is developed with user safety in mind.
Compact doors meet European safety requirement DIN EN 13241-1 for industrial doors and carry the CE mark of approval. All our doors are standard equipped with a fall-safety device, and hand and finger protection. An anti-lift security device is als provided.
Fall safety device
The steel cables that carry the Compact door have a safety factor of six. In the unlikely event of a cable breaking the door is stopped from falling by little hooks on the foot brackets. These engage the side rails preventing the folding door from falling unexpectedly.
Slack cable protection
A safety switch turns off the engine if a problem occurs with one of the lifting cables. When a closing door is obstructed - by a broomstick, for instance - the engine automatically stops. This prevents dangerous situations.
Hand and finger protection
The rails are protected to prevent fingers and hands from being pinched. The holes in the side of the rails are covered with polythene covers. The steel covers at the frontside are provided with warning tape.
Anti-lift safety device
Unwanted visitors often gain access to the premises by forcing up a service door from the outside. Not with a Compact door. The automatic locking system prevents undesirable lifting with the help of hooks which engage in the tracks. The anti-lift security can’t be disabled, so it can’t be forgotten.
When closing the Compact door with a constant-contact control switch a person monitors the safety in the vicinity of the door. This task is taken over by a light curtain in the optional obstacle detection safety to prevent damage or injury. If the light curtain detects a person or an obstacle, the door immediately stops and goes up again. Compact doors with an automatic time closing unit or a remote control are always equipped with this safety feature.
